MAGGIES LEGACY

Maggie came to us in 2020. The Pandemic was in it's early stages. Everyone was starting to stay home, including us. During this time God brought us closer. We knew that it was time to add a dog to our lives. On a farm near Kentucky was a Labrador named Maggie looking for her forever home after a medical problem that left her unable to be bred. She needed rescuing and God sent her to us. She was 4 years old and was about 78 healthy pounds. She had 5 years with us. During this time she was the best! She didn't know a stranger.
During the pandemic she was her dad's emotional support animal. She definitely exceeded this title. She never left his side. When nights were long and rough, she would get as close as she could to him. Making sure that he felt safe. She was always so loving to her other pet family members. She loved her cousin Vincent and her uncle Rusty so much. She loved every moment with family. She just seemed like she had always been with us. Then one day she didn't wanna go down the stairs. We were at the beach and she started acting like she was not feeling so good. The day we came home she was taken to the vet.
The vet was amazing. She checked Maggie's legs and hips. She let us know that it didn't look good but she would like to x-ray them to see how bad it was. As she was in there with her Maggie coughed. She heard something different about it and decided to do the x-rays to where she could see the hips and the lungs. After waiting on them for about 10 minutes, she brings Maggie in and lets us know that there is small nodules on Maggie's lungs. About 8 or 9 that she could see. The next 2 months were the hardest we had ever faced as a couple. Everyday she was loved to the most! Pup cups, hugs and lots of treats were the next 6 weeks. After she passed, the silence was deafening. We prayed about when to get a new baby to love. God blessed us with our newest baby. She was 13 months old and full of energy and lots of love to give.
